Randy Fout "Stinky Sneaker"
Spirit Award
Spirit Award
The Randy Fout Stinky Sneaker Spirit award is a contest between the students at Mountain View High School and Meridian High School. The game is hosted by each school and rotates from year to year. The trophy is awarded to the school who shows the most school spirit. The students are judged on how loud they cheer, sportsmanship and attire by members of the community. The contest was created by Randy Fout in 2005 and then renamed the following year. The award is in memory of the late Randy Fout, who was a former teacher at both schools and then an assistant principal at Mt. View High School.
Battle for the Milk Can
The Battle for the Milk Can was created over the summer of 2007 by Coach Jon Nettleton. Coach Nettleton was looking to start a tradition between rival schools Mountain View High School and Meridian High School. After talking with former Coach Jeff Hoseley of Meridian the Milk Can was decided on to represent the trophy due to the city of Meridian being founded on the milk farming industry. The game takes place each year opposite the Stinky Sneaker Game. This trophy is awarded to the team that wins the game. It is a traveling trophy that goes from school to school depending on the outcome of the game.
